Course Description

Christian counselling course is aimed at helping students/people regain a sense of life.  This life can be realized in Jesus Christ.  Its intent is to help others to achieve a better understanding of themselves and knowing God from a Biblical and experiential perspective.

Course Objectives

  • To introduce the students to the fundamentals of Christian Counselling.
  • To understand that Christian Counselling is a servant orientation and scholarly entity.
  • To encourage logical thinking, and to evaluate the authenticity of Biblical and spiritual potency to living a victorious Christ centered life.

When submitting academic work, you are expected to acknowledge all sources of information and cite the scholarship of any authors contributing to their work.

Course Methods

  • There’s a textbook assigned.  Lectures, class participation, class presentations, and practicum will be required.
  • Guest presenter or field work participation will conclude this course expectations.
  • Students will be asked to evaluate the lecture at the end of semester.

  • Week Two: A Biblical approach to Christian counseling
  • Week Three: Psychodynamic approach to counseling
  • Week Four: Listening skills
  • Weeks Five & Six: Critical thinking
  • Week Seven: Revision and pop quiz
  • Weeks Eight & Nine: Case studies
  • Weeks Ten & Eleven: students’ Presentations
  • Weeks Twelve and Thirteen: Exam and Term paper
